Benjamin Barnett, Rabbi of Congregation Havurah Shalom in NW Portland, will speak about the current situation from his perspective as a rabbi. Marlene Eid, Instructor in Psychology and Women’s Studies at Portland Community College, will speak about growing up in Jerusalem and about her role as one of the founding members of the Gaza Community Mental Health Program. Joel Beinin, Professor of Middle East History, Emeritus, Stanford University, will provide historical background and context. Mazen Malik, Oregon economist and human rights advocate, will speak about the history of Palestinian dispossession.
