The Feldstein Library of Neveh Shalom and the Eastside Jewish Commons present:
“On Being a Story-Carrier: An Evening of Learning”, with a reading by Brian Rohr
What stories do we carry? How do we use stories in our lives? Storyteller Brian Rohr will read his essay "On Being a Story-Carrier" recently published in the new two volume book set, P'ri Etz Yitzhak, Fruit of Yitzhak’s Tree, created in memory of influential storyteller and teacher Maggid Yitzhak Buxbaum, z"l. The books contain over 600 pages of essays, stories, and original art all on the theme and practice of Jewish storytelling. Rohr's essay specifically explores what it means to be a "story-carrier" - something that each of us already are - and the importance of being conscious of which stories we choose to carry. There will be time for a Q&A after the reading of the essay. Wine and light snacks will be served.
