Shir Tikvah's Queer Seder

Join for a reading from Shir Tikvah's Queer Haggadah for Pesach.  The Shir Tikvah community will gather for friendship and a celebration of our journey into queer freedom and our celebration of identity, recognizing we are still on the journey.

While celebrating our freedom and our newly found rights we honor the queerness of our text and on this night we will connect to our queer ancestors in Torah and throughout the long journey of diaspora.  We will honor and celebrate our black and brown queer contemporary visionaries who were the first to take that tenuous step into the waters which opened up the path to freedom for some of us and we will acknowledge the long journey to freedom we still need to take before we are really free, recognizing that a celebration and acknowledgment of queerness is one path to repairing the world.

For those gathering in person, we ask if you are able to bring food as this will be a bring your own and/or shared food event for those who feel comfortable sharing food or would prefer not to.  We will have the ritual foods for our Passover Seder, but please be empowered to also bring food and drink if you would like.
