EJC Open House & ORA Art Show

EJC is thrilled to welcome the community to an Open House, giving tours of our upgraded facility and sharing updates about futures plans!

While spending time connecting and exploring, you can also support local Jewish artists. ORA Artists in conjunction with the Eastside Jewish Commons will host a one day art sale and concert on April 10th, 2022 from 2-6pm. You are invited to shop for great art and also attend a concert of original music performed by local musician Mark Sherman. Twenty local Jewish artists will staff their own tables and offer their artwork to the public in a special exhibition/sale. There will be a variety of media represented featuring both secular art and Judaica. Shoppers are invited to attend the “Finding Love in Leviticus” concert between 4-5pm, where the audience will be introduced to the Musical Midrash Project. Mark Sherman launched the Musical Midrash Project to gain a greater sense of connection to the weekly Torah readings through music. Mark’s lovely voice, skilled guitar work, catchy melodies, and remarkable contemporary translations invite the listener to connect to the Torah in new and meaningful ways. Jewish cultural arts are thriving on Portland’s East side! Come on out and enjoy what we have to offer.
