Candlelight Vigil for Trans Day of Remembrance

Join us for an interactive candle lighting vigil to honor Trans Day of Remembrance with a ritual steeped in Jewish tradition. This event is open to all trans folks and their allies. Together we will mourn for those we've lost in the past year, and honor their memory, while also looking towards the future, because, to us, the most important part of this holiday is to remember that they lived, not just that they died.

The ritual will be led by the creators, Krythe Elaine Arensman (she/fae) and Em Merrell (she/they), founders of Living Bayou. We are hosted by TischPDX and Eastside Jewish Commons.

Free and Open to the Public

Registration is preferred (to plan for numbers)

Please Note this event :

  • is nonviolent (peaceful, family-friendly)

  • no weapons permitted

  • has Security provided by the Portland Peace Team
