Curious George, the little monkey always getting into sticky situations, has great stories, but so do his creators, Hans and Margret Rey. A manuscript of the first Curious George book was one of the only objects the Reys carried with them as they escaped the Nazis by bicycle in 1940. Join the Movie Mavens for Ema Ryan Yamazaki’s delightful 2017 film about the history behind Curious George. This “terrific documentary” with “perfectly tailored animation” (Cinemacy) shines a light on the Reys’ creative process, hardships, and deliberate choice to live life with whimsy.

EJC Movie Mavens will meet every fourth Wednesday at 1:00 pm at EJC. Free. No RSVP required. Snacks & good times guaranteed.
